Public wellness & fitness classes! St. Boniface Church, Edwardsville, IL (lower level of church), Wednesdays, 8:30-9:00a.m., ($4 drop-ins)
These holistic classes are inspired by the Nia Technique; a movement and lifestyle practice that earned it's healing and whole body-conditioning reputation in the early 1980's. Nia (nee-ah) is a blend of movement forms from Martial Arts, Dance Arts, and Healing Arts engaging the whole self. . .mind, body, spirit, emotions. Due to it's adaptability, the Nia Technique welcomes all levels of fitness from gentle movers to seasoned athletes to reach their greatest potential by choosing from three different levels of intensity modeled by two licensed instructors during class. Nia's barefoot practice invites participants to take off their socks and shoes and sense the earth underfoot, offering a feeling of groundedness, balance, and stability. Taking class barefoot stimulates the thousands of nerve endings in the soles of your feet, triggering positive signals of energy to the brain!
Let's move together! Join us anytime for class. . .

"For every physical response there's a feeling. As you open up parts of your body, you may tap into feelings you've locked deep inside. Movement is wonderful therapy in this way."
~ Nia® co-founders, Debbie Rosas and Carlos AyaRosas
