About On The Move Friends, colleagues, and licensed Nia® instructors, Liz Lane & Carleen Weber, launched their team-teaching partnership in June of 2013. Since then, they have been 'On The Move', travelingwithin the Greater St. Louis Area sharing their passion for holistic wellness & fitness inspired by the Nia Technique®. Liz & Carleen's classes are unique in that they offer two instructors at each class modeling three levels of movement intensity for a personalized fitness experience. They warmly welcome all ages, levels of fitness, body-types, and physical abilities (athletes to gentle movers ~ children to seniors), to step-in to "feel good fitness" that is especially fun! Liz & Carleen guide you to seek your personal potential at your own pace while facilitating engaging, mindful movements set to inspirational music. They are continuously grateful to witness each participant's positive health, wellness, and fitness transformations that sustain a lifetime!
Meet Partners 'On The Move'
Liz Lane (pictured right) is a Licensed Nia® Instructor and holds an MS in Education, BS in Elementary Education, and BA in Dance/Theater. Liz has been practicing the Nia Technique® for 6 years and instructing classes for 4 years. Combining her 9+ years of elementary teaching experience and extensive background in performing arts (dance & choreography), Liz enjoys leading Nia Technique classes in a fun, light-hearted way promoting pleasure through purposeful movement. She reflects Nia's "No Pain~All Gain" attitude with simple guided instruction and a smile. The wealth of healthy benefits that continue to evolve within the Nia practice are limitless and Liz is grateful to share that education and lifestyle with others.
Carleen Weber (pictured left) is a Licensed Nia® Instructor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Carleen has been practicing Nia for 10 years and instructing classes for 5 years. Her 18 years of social work experience is the perfect blend for her love of movement, fun, and psychological well-being. Carleen’s movement style is easy to follow and brings out the natural beauty and joy of living in our body. As facilitator, counselor, and friend, her dynamic approach to delivering the Nia promise leaves you wanting more.

Many times, special package rates are offered when purchasing more than one class at a time, and in some cases the first Nia class experience is Free! What type of training do Nia® teachers receive? Inspired by traditional martial arts, Nia follows a series of progressive belt training levels: White, Green, Blue, Brown, and Black Belt. Each belt explores five body and life competencies for health and vitality: philosophy, science, anatomy, music, and movement. Over the course of Nia training, you learn 52 principles for body-centered awareness. All belt levels include 50+ hours of education in the form of movement, interactive discussion, and self-reflection.
